My journey began with the idea of capturing the ephemeral connection between the body and an umbrella, innacting the act of rain as a way to research a new visual narrative. The initial concept was to highlight the moment when the rain touches the umbrella, revealing the subtle yet profound interaction between the body, the object, and nature. This theme evolved into an exploration of the unseenthe action of rain bouncing off the umbrella, often overlooked, yet so integral to the experience of rain itself.
Through this project, I wanted to reframe our perception of rain, traditionally seen as cold and miserable, into something playful, enjoyable, and fascinating. By freezing this brief, fleeting moment in a photograph, I was able to transform the rain into a dynamic, sculptural element.

The performative gesture of the hand gently reaching out emphasised the transitory nature of both the umbrella and the rain, underscoring the idea of life as a constant flow, where nothing remains fixed contrasts such as wet and dry, dark and light, rain and sun.
